Nora wins 7th out of 128 in the solid junior doe class at the 2011 Holland Lop Nationals under judge Dr. Jay Hreiz! A week later she was BOS in Show 2 at Gaithersburg under Pam Jones!
Welcome to Spring Lake Lops! My name is Krys Kolivras Simmons and I’ve been raising Holland Lops for 12 years. We’re in south-central PA, conveniently located within minutes of several major highways. We have always been exclusively Hollands, here at Spring Lake. Holland Lops are generally sweet and good-natured little bunnies if they are handled carefully, and often. We have a wonderful group of folks that show Hollands in the Mid-Atlantic area and I feel fortunate to have so many friends that I’ve met through my involvement in Holland Lops.
I really enjoy helping people get started in this hobby. I’m particular when it comes to putting a pedigree on a rabbit and always try to offer animals for sale that are of good quality and have features that will help other breeders improve their herds.
For the most part our rabbitry is a closed rabbitry, and not open to visitors, for multiple reasons. In addition to the fact that we live out in a rural area, I have found that my does who are about to deliver do better if people are not traipsing through. During show seasons I prefer to deliver sale animals to the shows but in the off season I will have you come to our house and we’ll look at the sale rabbits in the yard or driveway. I appreciate your understanding! If you have questions regarding your own rabbitry set-up and configuration, just let me know and I’ll do my best to advise you based on my own experience or methods I’ve heard about from others.
